Arrow Broken Poetry Collective

September 25, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Klecko + Open Mic

The public is invited to a free event to celebrate the power of poetry to create community and explore topics of the heart.

This month’s event features Klecko. This artist has had more poems published in the New York Times over the last decade than anybody else. Klecko is a disciple of Carol Connolly, St. Paul’s only Poet Laureate. Klecko worked on projects with Isabella Rosellini, George Saunders, Patricia Hampl, Jonathan Franzen, Sjon, Leif Enger, May Pang and Gloria Chapman. When launching a book in Montgomery, Alabama, Klecko slept in Zelda Fitzgerald’s bed. Klecko is also a master bread baker with nearly 50 years of experience.

Open Mic starts at 8:00 p.m. If you’d like to read/perform, you will be allotted 3 minutes. Please plan accordingly so everyone has a turn to share their voice. This month’s theme is “Love as an act of defiance.” You know it when you feel it. We look forward to hearing your unique voices at open mic!

This event is sponsored by Marine Community Library and St. Croix Valley Foundation. Arrow Broken events are supported by the Marine on St. Croix community including Brookside Bar & Grill, Christ Lutheran Church, J-Rod’s, and Marine Mills Folk School.

Arrow Broken Poetry Collective is a new organization (estab. 2025) led by Rosetta (Rosie) Peters, Suzi Hudson and Kate Seitz. Their working mission is to lead writing groups, outreach and education, and monthly poetry reading and open mic events in the St. Croix Valley.
