STORYTIME
Beginning again in April, 2023 – join us for special stories every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. We meet in the Library. Free, with no registration needed. Open to all ages.
SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS
AWE Saturday – March 4th
AWE stands for Afternoons With Explorations: Come and explore with friends on a Saturday afternoon.
What will we explore? It could be art, it could be music, it could be science – it’s sure to get you thinking and wondering.
Come and see, bring a friend!
Free! Recommended for children 7 to 11 years old.
Date and Time: Saturday March 4, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Brodini Comic Magic Show – Saturday, April 1st
Join us to see fun and exciting magic tricks. Master Magician Graylyn Morris will raise spirits and test kids’ powers of concentration as he manipulates ropes, scarves, balls, and other magician props in a perplexing “now you see it, now you don’t” performance!
Free! For all ages – no registration needed.

Earth Day 2023 – Saturday, April 22

Join the World’s Largest Environmental Movement in our own backyard!
April 20th event update:
Due to the cold weather predicted for Saturday, all activities will be indoors. Join us at the Marine Village Hall and at the Marine Village School for the activities listed below. There is no set schedule for the activities – drop in at either location anytime between 10:00 am and noon.
Activities include:
– Learning stations with focus on environmental issues
– Wildflower seed ball making
– Fairy house building
– Earth Day button making
– Earth Day puzzle/poster creation
– Environmental book sharing
– Do it yourself litter pick-up when walking from one location to another
Date and Time: Saturday, April 22, 10:00 a.m. to noon (stop by anytime)
Location: Marine Village Hall, 121 Judd St. and Marine Village School, 550 Pine St. – both in Marine on St Croix
Who: Families, partners and individuals. All ages!
Bring your own bag and gloves for collection purposes.
This event is a joint project of the Marine Community Library Children’s Committee and Marine Village School.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Join us for an evening of fun, games and pizza! This is a great opportunity to meet other families in the community.
Activities include BINGO, Minute to Win It, book charades, and crafts. If you wish, bring your favorite game.
These are free events, but we suggest a donation of $5 per family for pizza. We recommend that families RSVP so we can order enough pizza. Water is provided but you are welcome to bring your own beverages.
Dates: Friday, February 17 and Friday, March 10
Time: 5:30 to 7:00 pm
Location: Marine Village Hall, 121 Judd Street
Pizza: $5.00 per family suggested donation
KIDS COLLECTION
The Marine Community Library has a wide assortment of books and materials for kids of all ages, from board books for babies to fiction and nonfiction for teens. We continually add new releases and other materials to our collection, and we also have childhood classics like Dr. Seuss and Berenstain Bears. Lists of recent additions to our collection are available on the RECENT ACQUISITIONS page. Our collection includes:
- board books, picture books, easy readers
- juvenile fiction and nonfiction
- teen fiction and nonfiction
- audio books, DVDs
If you have suggestions for books that would be good additions to our kids collection, please let us know at info@marinecommunitylibrary.org.
2023 Summer Programs
We’ll be adding information as our summer programs get settled. We will offer a variety of great events and activities to engage and delight kids of all ages.

SCIENCE & ART CAMP
Update on April 4, 2023: Session 2 has openings; Session 1 is full. See Registration Information below.
This is the 7th year the Library is sponsoring this special camp for school age children. We’ll have two Sessions, each held in the mornings of one week in June. Dates are listed below. The camp will be held at the Marine Village School.
Each day, science and art presenters will lead the children in activities. Activities planned for this year include:
Session 1 activities will include interactive theater activities with the Zephyr Youth Program; learning about bees and pollination with Pollinate, MN; exploring the St. Croix River area with the Wild River Conservancy; and more.
Session 2 activities will include learning about bees and pollination with Pollinate, MN; interactive activities combining chemistry, colors, and art with educators from the Bakken Museum; learning about photography by taking photos with the cameras each camper will receive; and more.
2023 Dates:
Session 1: June 12 to 16 for children going into grades 1 to 3.
Session 2: June 19 to 23 for children going into grades 4 to 6.
Time: 9:00 am to noon each day
Location: Marine Village School, 550 Pine St, Marine on St Croix
Cost: $65
