Summertime Programs

We’re resuming our regular summer programs in 2021!
This includes a host of great events and activities to engage and delight kids of all ages – listed below with dates and times.
Please note that COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed for all programs and events.

Kick-off Celebration

Saturday, June 12, 2021
Don’t miss this fun event which will highlight the summer programs with entertainment, activities, prizes and more!
Free!   Safety protocols will be followed.
Time and Location: 10:00 am to noon at the Marine Gazebo

READING INCENTIVE Program

2021 Dates: June 6 to August 27
Read a book, submit a short book report online and be eligible for a weekly prize drawing. We encourage all children, preschool through high school, to join us for this very popular program. Prizes can be picked up at the library. There will also be a free book for every reader to pick up!

STORYTIME

Join us for special stories and crafts at the Marine Gazebo.  Free!
For preschoolers through early elementary children.
Dates: July 8, 15, 22, 29 and August 5, 12 (six Thursdays)
Time and Location: 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Marine Gazebo

SCIENCE & ART CAMP

This is the 5th year the Library is sponsoring this popular camp for school age children. Each day different science and art presenters will lead the children in activities.
From 9:00 am to noon each day, at the Marine Gazebo.
Limit of 15 children per session. Cost: $40

Session 1: June 14 to 18 for children going into grades 1 to 3.
Session 2: June 21 to 25 for children going into grades 4 to 6.
Registration: required, begins April 17th: Registration portal

SPECIAL Events

Blanket Bingo Gather with your friends, family and a blanket to play Bingo. Lots of prizes for all ages.

KIDS COLLECTION

The Marine Community Library has a wide assortment of books and materials for kids of all ages, from board books for babies to fiction and nonfiction for teens. We continually add new releases and other materials to our collection, and we also have childhood classics like Dr. Seuss and Berenstain Bears. Lists of recent additions to our collection are available on the RECENT ACQUISITIONS page. Our collection includes:

  • board books, picture books, easy readers
  • juvenile fiction and nonfiction
  • teen fiction and nonfiction
  • audio books, DVDs

school year programs

STORYTIME

Storytime is held in the library once a month during the school year. We welcome youngsters of all ages to listen to stories, sing songs and do activities.

game night

Everyone is welcome to Game Night, held once a month during the school year in the Village Hall. Join your neighbors and meet new friends for a night of games and pizza. Bring your favorite game, and, if you wish, teach others. The library will have games as well.
