Book bags for kids

The Marine Community Library has a wonderful collection of children’s books. Because of the pandemic the books are underused. So, to get them off the shelves and into the hands of children, bags of kids’ books are available during curbside pick-up every Saturday morning.

Each bag will have five or six books, fiction and non-fiction. Age-appropriate books for the bags will be safely selected by library volunteers. Book bags are available for these approximate age groups:

  • infant (under 2 years)
  • toddler (2 to 3 year olds)
  • preschool (4 to 5 year olds)
  • 1st to 3rd grades

To reserve a book bag, email the library at info@marinecommunitylibrary.org or call the library at 651-433-2820. Be sure to specify the age group for your book bag, as well as your name, phone number, and library card number (if you have that available). We appreciate requests being made by Thursday so bags can be assembled in advance.

Pick up your book bag between 10:30 and noon on Saturday. Find the bag labeled with your first name on the cart in front of the library (or inside the Village Hall If the weather is inclement). Please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing when picking up your bag.

Return the books to the Washington County Library book drop at the Village Hall or, when the Hall is open, put them through the return slot in the library door. Please return the books within two weeks.

Lets get reading! Reading with your child instills a love for knowledge while bonding with them. Great books await you!
