The Marine Community Library (MCL) is offering a $500 scholarship opportunity for High School Juniors and Seniors who live in our patron area. The patron area includes approximately a 10-mile radius from downtown Marine (all of Marine on St. Croix, May Township, and Scandia).
The recipient of this scholarship will be the student liaison to the MCL Board, and have the following responsibilities:
– Deliver and return requested books and media to residents of the Stugas on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Delivery to the Stugas will begin in late October 2025 and continue through May 2026. The Stugas are a Senior Living Association located just north of downtown Marine on Highway 95. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car with written permission for use provided to the Library by the vehicle owner(s).
– Attend MCL Board meetings every other month as scheduled, providing input on Library initiatives and reporting on the Stuga book delivery project.
– Assist the MCL Communications Committee with social media posts as needed, especially focusing on content that will interest middle school and high school students.
The monetary scholarship will be awarded after one year of volunteer service, with the liaison position starting on October 15th, 2025.
