One Book, One Minnesota

One Book | One Minnesota is a statewide book club that invites Minnesotans of all ages to read a common title and come together virtually to enjoy, reflect, and discuss.

The One Book Fifth Chapter which runs from August 2 through September 26, features the book Murder on the Red River by Marcie Rendon. The e-book and audiobook versions are available for free at Ebooks Minnesota. The book is also available at the Marine Community Library and other libraries around the state.

Marcie Rendon, an enrolled member of the White Earth Anishinaabe nation, is a poet, essayist, performance artist, novelist, and the winner of the 2020 McKnight Distinguished Artist Award. Murder on the Red River is the first book in her series of mystery novels about Cash Blackbear, a young Anishinaabe woman.

A Virtual Author Discussion will be held on August 31 at 7:00 pm, with Marcie Rendon in conversation with Allison Waukau. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
